The Village of Moweaqua Fire Department's mission is to protect and enhance the quality of life for all citizens and visitors from the adverse effects of natural and man-made emergencies. 

Our goal is to provide a protection program through a cost-efficient approach to emergency response, fire code application and public fire education.

Village of Moweaqua Shelter (Cooling Center/Warming Center)

Moweaqua Community Shelter is located in the fire station at 120 W. Wall St. The Shelter will be open for extreme heat (cooling center) or extreme cold (warming center) in the event of an emergency or disaster.

The Shelter has 60 cots, blankets, restrooms, generator, backup power and the ability to serve food. Activations of the shelter will be broadcast on local TV and Radio stations in our area, or by contact with the Village of Moweaqua, Moweaqua Fire Department and Moweaqua Police Department. Please report all Emergency problems or concerns to 911.
