When is Village Hall open?

The Village Hall (located at 122 N. Main) is open 8:00 am- 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. The number for Village Hall is 217-768-3036. Fax is 217-768-3485

What Offices are located in Village Hall?

The following offices are located inside Village Hall: Mayor, Village Clerk, Village Treasurer, Water Clerk and Police Department.

When are Village Board Meetings held?

Village board meeting are held at 6:30 pm on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at Village Hall. An agenda of the meeting is posted on the front north window of the Village Hall and on our website 48 hours prior to the meeting.

Can I burn trash/yard wasted in the Village of Moweaqua?

Burning of trash or yard waste is prohibited in Moweaqua. Brush pick-up and leaf pick-up are provided by the Street Department. A schedule and guidelines are available at the Village Hall.

When are Village Clean Up Days?

The Village holds "Clean Up Days" in early May, during which dumpsters are available to allow each household to dispose of unwanted items, junk, appliances, etc. (limited to 1 pickup load per household). Dates, restrictions and guidelines are available upon request and posted on the Village Facebook page.

What does the Village ordinance say concerning pets?

Residents may own up to 3 dog or cats (total). Dogs and cats must be registered yearly with the Deputy Clerk. The cost is $2.00. Proof of current rabies vaccination is required. Dogs must be restrained at all times and may not run at large. Anone walking a dog must have the dog on a leash and pick up their dog's waste. Nuisance barking is not permitted. 

What is the Village ordinance regarding Electric/Gas non-Highway Vehicles?

The Village of Moweaqua does have an ordinance to allow Electric/Gas Non-Highway vehicles to operate on village roadways. You can obtain an application from the Deputy Clerk. The vehicle will need to be inspected and the cost is $25.00. Registration is due annualy.
